Here is a toy window from 1953 showcasing the various dolls available in the Toy department (which at that time was in the lower level). The facade of the building and iconic Christmas tree make up the propping for this holiday display.

I remember that the old Thom McAn building off of I-290 used to have a very similar-looking Christmas tree that they'd put up for the holidays. We moved to Shrewsbury in 1973, right around the time Denhoms went out of business - and I remember admiring the tree as we'd pass it on our way to and from Worcester.
Could the Thom McAn "tree" have been one of the originals from Denholms?
I cant thank you all enough for your comments, memories, and photo's. Truly wonderful!!! I love seeing the old Denholms logo being used again.
I too remember the tree on the former Thom McAnn building and do believe it was the same one from Denholms. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any images of it to confirm...
Chris, With the return of the holidays, I have to tell you again how happy I am that you founded this site. It brings back so many happy memories, especially now at this time of year. The lights, strung in the form of a Christmas tree on the front of Denholm's were awesome. So beautiful.
Merry Christmas to all, especially to Chris and fans of this site.
